Yearly Archive: 2012

Today, and today, and today.

Wow. Slept in this morning. I blame the bizarrely dark morning. And then the 15 minutes spent searching for my phone (which, of course, ended up bring right in front of me).

My agenda for today has much of the usual (knitting, layout, staring at words on a glowing screen), but also some fun. I’ll be having brunch with one of my favoritest people in the world, who I haven’t seen for many years, plus a few other fantastic people.

There are worse ways to spend a Sunday.

Calling my drawing-enabled friends.

Hey there. Anyone looking for a very small amount of side work? I need a logo for covert-ops.org. While I’m a fair hand at layout and design, and absolutely useless when it comes to the actual making of the images. If you’re interested, we should talk.

Clearly, another banner day is on the books.

I woke up this morning with my knees so stiff and painful that it required me to take the steps one at a time, and with a throbbing toothache.

I’m supposed to be meeting friends in Fairfax at 10, but I’m not sure that I’m able to do the 70 mile round-trip.

*sigh*

Cables, cables, everywhere.

If you’ve been paying attention, then you know I’m working on a project whose nickname I keep waffling on, but it’s essentially something along the lines of Most Intricate Little Project Ever™. I don’t think I’m giving away too much to say that I’m working on knitting a dress, size 2T (that’s toddler size 2, for those not in the know). So, itty bitty dress, for a little person. Which is to say, small in circumference, ya know? So I don’t think that I’m overly insane for thinking that 20 cables in a single row are a wee bit much.

If anyone sees my sanity, please let it know that I’m on the lookout for it, k?

Thursday, I don’t care about you…

Today, I anticipate more disruption to my finely-honed schedule for the week.

Now, normally, I would be joking about such a thing, having nothing resembling a schedule barring a couple of medical appointments. However, this week and next week are actually kind of frenetic for me. Which generally makes this whole tooth debacle to be an actual debacle for which I have no time.

And yet, here we are.

Today, I shall probably be trying to get in to see my dentist, as I have developed a lump in my jaw, and the right side of my face is warm, neither of which can be good things. There will likely be medicating. And, despite the well-reasoned wishes of some of my friends, I will be attempting to do at least some of the things I was supposed to be doing today, instead of simply plopping myself down on the couch and watching reruns as I drift in and out of a narcotics-induced sleep.

How about you? Please tell me you’re going to have a better day than I am, so that I may live vicariously through your good day.

And Wednesday, too.

Today’s agenda: YAMA in just about an hour, to see if my knee has built up any more fluid, and to find out what the fluid it did build up last time was all about. Then, the rest of the day is likely to be spent in playing ‘pain management for dummies who need a bone graft after having a PB&J’ with my friend and yours, Tylenol 3. This is going to wreak havoc on my productivity for the day, for which I really don’t have time.

*shakes fist*

What are you all up to today?

Tuesday’s gray…

Up very early this morning. Luckily, I seem to have recovered quickly from all the driving and traffic of yesterday. This is a very good thing, as I have a bunch of stuff that I need to get done today. My tasks for the day include laundry and layout, research and responses, oh my. And probably some knitting.

What’s going on in your world today?

Monday, you can fall apart…

On the agenda for today, YAMA x2, both in Virginia. A lot of driving, and a lot of waiting. I shall be sure to bring along my knitting. (For the waiting, not the driving. I promise.)

What are you up to today?

How I know it’s chilly out…

I’m wearing socks for the first time (other than knitting purposes) this year.

A question for my knitting friends.

Not that I’m looking to start a new project at the moment, because I’m hip deep in projects, but I have a question for my fellow knitting freaks.

If I wanted to get a start on color work, what would be a good beginner-level project? I don’t think that I’m quite up for Fair Isle ( 🙂 ), and would like to get an idea of a good project that gets me started down the path of using color for more than stripes.

I look forward to all the great ideas!
