The subject really says it all. Google, with it’s ever-expanding list of services, launched Google Keep in March of 2013. As often happens, they rolled it out the door with little (if any) fanfare, and I’d never heard of it until today. I’m wondering if any of you have tried it, and what you think of it.
I use it. Works great with Google Now!
Ditto. I use it for lists of things, especially when I’m going to the store and I can tick them off.
Would you say that it holds a different niche than Evernote? That this is more a lightweight place for transitory notes? Or is it a direct competitor for Evernote? (And thanks for your responses!)
Never used evernote.
Fair enough. 🙂
“lists of things”++
I also use Evernote, but for quick notes and reminders, I prefer keep.
Evernote, for me is like a file cabinet of goodness. I keep everything from home inventory (geeky i know) to all my favorite web links – i no longer use the browser “favorites”..
Didn’t play with it (yet) but wondering how is it any different than today’s smartphones. I think all have notepad, memo, photo album, and such already. Plus one tends to have their phone with them at all times. *shrug*
I use it for exactly one thing…as a “this phone belongs to” widget on my phone’s main screen. Other than that I don’t use it for anything, as I’m an Evernote lover.
I used to use a third party app, one of Evernote’s early competitors from before they got big. I forget the name, it changed at least once when they got bought out, and then they shut down a while back. When that happened I moved everything to Keep. I’ve never used Evernote, but I’ve been happy with Keep.
I’ve played with One Note and Evernote and asked someone about Keep, but this person’s impression was that Google is likely to roll this one back.
